PPA mc3man не содержит пакеты для дерзкого больше (вот почему, Вы получаете 404).
, Как Вы находитесь на надежном человеке теперь, можно повторно добавить PPA:
sudo add-apt-repository --remove ppa:mc3man/trusty-media
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mc3man/trusty-media
sudo apt-get update

Ошибка 1:
(gedit:15234): IBUS-WARNING **: The owner of /home/jez/.config/ibus/bus is not root!
не выполняют gedit использование sudo. Попытайтесь запустить графическое приложение с помощью gksu. gksu пакет не установлен по умолчанию в Ubuntu. Так попытайтесь установить gksu путем выполнения ниже команды на терминале,
sudo apt-get install gksu
gksu gedit filename
Ошибка 2:
http://ppa.launchpad.net/mc3man/trusty-media/ubuntu/dists/saucy/main/binary-amd64/Packages 404 Not Found
В Вашем случае просто удаляют не найденный ppa:mc3man/trusty-media ppa путем выполнения ниже команды на терминале.
sudo add-apt-repository -r ppa:mc3man/trusty-media
Для знания больше приблизительно 404 Не Найденный PPA см. этот вопрос.
