согласно его решению, я удалил каталог, но он дал те же ошибки.

удостовериться git checkout v4.9.0 не как v4.7

Версия 4.7.0 сторожа не совместима с GCC 7.x, как сообщается здесь:
https://github.com/facebook/watchman/issues/467

Примечание, Ubuntu 18.04 поставлется с GCC 7.3.

Попытайтесь создать последнюю версию, v4.9.0, в котором устраняется проблема:
https://github.com/facebook/watchman/releases/tag/v4.9.0

С другой стороны, используйте более раннюю версию GCC для создания Сторожа, такой как 5,4.

Выполните все эти шаги

git clone https://github.com/facebook/watchman.git
cd watchman/

используйте эту команду, чтобы проверить, что Вы находитесь в ответвлении или основном ответвлении мерзавца, если консольная печать как ниже вывода пропускает эту команду git checkout v4.9.0

если Вы находитесь в ведущем устройстве консольная печать как это

* master

После этого использования процесса все эти команды

git checkout v4.9.0 // use v4.9.0
sudo apt-get install -y autoconf automake build-essential python-dev libssl-dev libtool
./autogen.sh
./configure
make
sudo make install //root user

Watchman доступен в Debian sid и Ubuntu 20.04 и может быть установлен с помощью 'apt-get install watchman'.

При выполнении принятого ответа я получал сообщение об ошибке

Не удалось получить блокировку /var/lib/dpkg/lock-frontend. Он удерживается процессом 42266 (apt) N: Имейте в виду, что удаление файла блокировки не является решением и может привести к поломке вашей системы.

Предупреждение было серьезным, поэтому я попытался следовать комментарию @Brandon Rhodes и преуспел в следующем наборе инструкций

curl -L https://github.com/facebook/watchman/archive/v4.9.0.tar.gz | tar xzf -

cd watchman-4.9.0/
sudo apt-get install -y autoconf automake build-essential python-dev libssl-dev libtool

make
