Can't get 4k @ 60hz, only 30hz

I have a lenovo thinkpad t490 with "i7-8665U" which supports 4k@60hz over usb-c/thunderbolt ports according to:

It is connected via usb-c to hdmi2.0 cable to acer vg280k.

All of that with Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS.

The solution ended up buying cable explicitly supporting 4k@60hz

У меня была такая же проблема с 4K-телевизором, подключенным через адаптер HDMI к USB-C Thunderbolt3. Решением было создание разрешения 3840x2160 с частотой обновления 54 Гц:

Подводя итог, я использовал:

  • cvt 3840 2160 54

Затем возьмите вывод сверху и передайте его ниже:

xrandr --newmode "3840x2160_54.00"  637.50  3840 4152 4568 5296  2160 2163 2168 2230 -hsync +vsync

Наконец, установите монитор на новое разрешение - частота обновления:

xrandr --addmode DP-1-1 3840x2160_54.00

Разница между 30 Гц и 54 Гц - ночь и день. При частоте 30 Гц цвета размываются и вызывают утомление глаз.
