У меня дома есть два ноутбука - один MacBook Pro и один Dell XPS 15 с Ubuntu 18.04.5.

Оба находятся рядом друг с другом, подключены к моей домашней сети.

Я бы рекомендовал вам попробовать установить более новое ядро HWE. Это можно сделать с помощью следующей команды: (reference)

sudo apt install --install-recommends linux-generic-hwe-18.04 xserver-xorg-hwe-18.04

Then reboot. Это позволит установить ядро версии 5.4, которое имеет более новые драйверы.

Вы также можете рассмотреть возможность обновления до 20.04 LTS, которая позволяет использовать еще более новые версии ядра. Я считаю, что ядро, которое не является древним, поможет вам в любом случае.
