Пожалуйста, не обновляйте, поскольку у вас уже есть python 3, предварительно установленный в вашем Ubuntu. Для проверки выполните:

Python 3: python3 -V, Python 2: python -V. Это установки python по умолчанию, которые поставляются с установкой Ubuntu.
