GDM и GNOME при неправильном разрешении

Я пытаюсь настроить Ubuntu 17.10 и иметь всевозможные проблемы с разрешением экрана. Экран входа в систему устанавливает разрешение 1920x2160 (не имеет понятия, откуда он это получается), который не читается, и после входа в систему на дисплее просто отображается сообщение «no signal». Если я вхожу в систему с Xorg вместо Wayland (я думаю, что это то, что я делаю, но не могу прочитать экран, чтобы быть уверенным), я получаю полезное разрешение 1920x1080.

В первом выпуске я попробовал добавить к сценарию инициализации (/etc/gdm3/Init/Default) ближе к концу:

Мой экран это телевизор через HDMI, а графическая карта - AMD RX480.

Для второй проблемы я не знаю, с чего начать.

Редактировать. Похоже, что сценарий инициализации вообще не запускается. Я пробовал записывать в файл и нет выхода. Есть ли где-нибудь журналы? Разрешения на /var/log/gdm3 также немного испортились.
