ключ ssh входит в vps горе

Я недавно создал vps в целях веб-хостинга. Все шло прекрасное, пока я не решил, что пора добавить другую учетную запись и отключить корневую аутентификацию. Я добавил нового пользователя к sudoers группе, добавил открытый ключ к /home/user/.ssh/authorized_keys file, проверенный все полномочия файла и результат состоят в том, что я могу только войти в систему через аутентификацию по паролю. Это происходит и с корневой и с некорневой учетной записью. После входа в систему с паролем я также заметил это вместо user@host:$ prompt я просто получаю a "$" подсказка. Я действительно создавал домашнюю и .ssh папку, таким образом, не уверенный в той, но более раздраженный с неспособностью войти в систему. Кроме того, это происходит на порте 22 также. Я провел прошлые 12 часов, пытаясь заставить это работать. Единственная вещь, которую я могу сделать, повторно высветить мой vps и придерживаться корневого входа в систему с ssh ключом, который не является тем, что я хочу. Каждый раз, когда я пытаюсь изменить ту установку, я сталкиваюсь со множеством проблем. Кто-то может дать некоторый совет?
