Ubuntu 18.04: XAMPP 8.0.3 + Laravel 8. * + PHP 8. *: Уведомление об устаревании + Неизвестный пакет не имеет определенного имени

При попытке установить Laravel 8 я получил следующие предупреждающие сообщения:

Я установил XAMPP для Linux 8.0.3 и иметь PHP версии 8.0.3 , установленной в пакете XAMPP.

Я подозреваю, что Laravel 8. * еще не поддерживает php 8. *, но я не уверен. Спасибо.
