Загрузка с внешнего жесткого диска приводит к появлению черного экрана с GRUB (без запроса)

Независимо от целесообразности этого, при загрузке с внешнего жесткого диска, подключенного с помощью переходного кабеля SATA-USB:

bios

это приводит к черному экрану просто с GRUB в верхнем левом углу. Видимо система зависла.

Как определить, что внешний диск:

Может быть, это связано с тем, что для загрузки используется диск SATA , или какая-то другая проблема или конфигурация оборудования?

Этот внешний SATA hdd, подключенный с помощью кабеля USB-адаптера, прекрасно загружается с другого компьютера.

Операционная система, написанная с помощью dd, представляет собой настольный ISO от Ubuntu.

немного любопытно сообщение GPT, но в остальном оно кажется функциональным.

Не полное решение, так как этот диск по каким-то причинам не может загрузить другой ПК.
