Как сделать GPU в новой виртуальной машине ubuntu 20.04 пригодным для использования?

Question

Я весь день пытаюсь заставить этот (v100) GPU работать на новой виртуальной машине ubuntu. Я пытался установить драйверы и перезагрузиться, а также очистить/удалить все, что связано с nvidia, но ничего из этого, похоже, не работает.

В частности, я запустил вот это:

apt update;
apt install build-essential;

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:graphics-drivers
sudo apt install ubuntu-drivers-common
ubuntu-drivers devices
sudo apt-get install nvidia-driver-460
sudo reboot now

Затем иногда кажется, что nvidia-smi работает (на момент написания этого вопроса это не так, поэтому я не смог скопировать вставку того, что говорится, когда он работает), но когда он не работает, он говорит следующее:

Unable to determine the device handle for GPU 0000:00:06.0: Unknown Error

ubuntu-drivers devices
sudo apt-get install nvidia-driver-460
sudo reboot now

but that does not seem to work
