Клиент виртуальных камер ubuntu 15.10 имеет небольшое окно и не будет расширяться

Хост Ubuntu 14.04 запускает virtualbox 4.3.34_Ubuntu r104062. Существует клиент ubuntu 15.10, который при запуске имеет небольшой размер окна. И при использовании виртуального бокса он не будет расширяться до полного окна -> Вид -> Переключиться на полноэкранный режим. Как это можно устранить?

Стандартное решение для этого - установить vboxadditions и перезагрузиться, а затем повторить попытку. (например, см. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1042494) Но это не работает.
