Ошибка при установке VLC в Ubuntu 16.04 [дубликат]

подавить ежедневную сборку vlc:
rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/videolan-ubuntu-master-daily-xenial.list.save
rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/videolan-ubuntu-master-daily-xenial.list
и переустановить официальный стабильный выпуск:
sudo apt-get -f install

Та же проблема, что и здесь Попытка решить проблемы PPA с libvlccore9, из-за которой управление пакетами стало неработоспособным
IDK, если оно кошерное, но это исправило это для меня:
sudo dpkg -i --force-overwrite /var/cache/apt/archives/libvlccore9_3.0.0~rc1~~git20171215+r73271+108~ubuntu18.04.1_amd64.deb
Конечно, потому что вы используете 16.04, вы должны сделать это:
sudo dpkg -i --force-overwrite /var/cache/apt/archives/libvlccore9_3.0.0~rc1~~git20171214+r73255+108~ubuntu16.04.1_amd64.deb
