обновлению человечности, отказавшему от 14.04 lts., не удалось выбрать что-то

это не тот же случай как Неудавшийся для выборки обновления на Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Испытанный Тар)

Restoring original system state

используемая команда:

sudo do-release-upgrade

на проверке с помощью ping-запросов

ping archive.ubuntu.com

вывод был:

....... пока я не остановил его.

также параметры настройки системы-> детали показывают, что это 14.04LTS

вывод:

dpkg --print-architecture

amd64

я открылся /etc/apt/sources.list файл и нет никакого упоминания о utopic. везде, это - надежный человек.

[Обновление - 2]
я проверил вышеупомянутые ссылки и нет действительно никакой записи main/binary-amd-64/Packages но везде это main/binary-amd64/Packages (заметьте дефис между AMD и 64).

я использовал команду:

grep -r "amd-64" /etc/apt

и не получил вывода.
