Ошибка обновления apt-get после обновления [дубликат]

Я только что обновил свой Ubuntu с 12 по 13, делая :

apt-get update
...
apt-get upgrade

В следующий раз мне, вероятно, следует просто использовать вместо этого:

apt-get dist-upgrade

Я запускаю свой Ubuntu на Mac mini с двойной загрузкой. Он предназначен для разработки программного обеспечения и использования клиент-сервер.Другая машина, ноутбук Acer, работающий под управлением Mint, я пытался обновить его, но Mint не позволяет вам выполнить обновление с одного выпуска дистрибутива на следующий без чистой установки. Мы также попробовали несколько тестов с некоторыми другими разновидностями * nix: FreeBSD, OpenBSD, CentOS, Fedora ... и пришли к выводу, что Ubuntu выглядит лучшим вариантом для практической корпоративной среды с хорошей широкой поддержкой больших ряд драйверов, которые также хорошо работают как при загрузке с помощью rEFIt / rEFInd, так и Grub.

Не следует ли мне никогда не обновлять Ubuntu Desktop с текущего дистрибутива до следующего? Разве это не Ubuntu LTS? Итак, действительно ли каждый новый выпуск дистрибутива Ubuntu требует новой чистой установки?
