VLC и другие мультимедийные проблемы

Я пробовал множество бесплатных мультимедийных приложений в Ubuntu, и я получаю тот же результат, когда смотрю один из моих фильмов на другом жестком диске. Это всегда заканчивается полным экраном с застрявшим изображением посередине, в то время как VLC выглядит черным как смоль. Я искал эту проблему во всем Интернете, и мне интересно, сталкивался ли кто-либо с такими же проблемами. Это может быть связано с моей двойной настройкой монитора. Я также попытался добавить и повторно добавить репозитории, но, похоже, это повторяет уже более месяца. Нужно ли переустанавливать всю систему или как?
