Похоже, что Вы настроили apt использовать кэширующийся прокси на Вашей интранет рабочего места. Когда Вы не подключены к той сети, настройки прокси недопустимы, и обновления/установки перестанут работать.
Лучший способ зафиксировать, который будет зависеть, как часто Вы обновляете свою систему на работе по сравнению с далеко от работы, также:
