Что корректный путь состоит в том, чтобы изменить/etc/pam.d/common-auth?

По умолчанию /etc/pam.d/common-auth похож на это

Я успешно изменял вышеупомянутое добавление файла auth required pam_exec.so expose_authtok /path/to/some/script

Я рассматриваю, является ли вышеупомянутое рекомендуемым способом изменить PAM или если я должен создавать конфигурацию PAM в /usr/share/pam-configs/my-custom-thing.

Действительно ли создание является конфигурацией PAM надлежащий способ внести мое необходимое изменение в PAM?
