У меня есть подобная проблема. У меня были Ubuntu 14.04 и Nvidia Geforce 310M драйвер. красное смещение хорошо работало. Вчера я полностью удалил и установил новый Ubuntu 14.04.1 и рекомендуемый драйвер видеокарты Ubuntu. Теперь красное смещение не работает. Я попробовал много вещей. Единственное обработанное решение (не для красного смещения):

xrandr --current --output LVDS-0 --gamma 0.1:1.0:1.0

, который изменяет цвет отображения.
